“Language, race, religion, political affiliation, color of the skin, appearance, even choice of entertainers and sports team, and other attributes are known to divide people into groups. Is mankind destined not to be united as one in thinking and in creed? Is a man born with an instinct to destroy another which does not belong to his herd? Will there ever be a common enemy that will unite mankind as one, a world with no great divide?”
I’ve been reading user comments on news headlines turning into heated debates and squabbles. And then out of nowhere, the “tribal” culture appears. Ilocanos are pitted against Bicolanos, Kapampangans against the Cebuanos, etc., etc., etc.! We see this kind of petty squabbling not only in the Philippines but also anywhere in world.

That’s the way the cookie crumbles. In the Philippines, it’s regionalism. Here in the US, it’s Democrats vs Republicans, and so on and so forth.

… And it is now getting out of hand here. I’ve been reading comments on certain news here and it is very disappointing that Filipinos would come to a point that they want to stand out from the rest because they came from a region or that region. Quite saddening, really! 😦

One politician should stand out as incorruptible. I don’t know why Filipinos are trashing President A. Growth in the Philippines is the highest in Asia currently…. I read about that here in the US. It says it’s even higher than China’s and the US. My parents think Aquino is not corrupt. He has the good name of his parents to keep and uphold. My parents also say Filipinos will be a sorry lot if Binay gets elected.

Binay is the most corrupt among the candidates. He has his whole family in the government!

Humans are animals that like to think they are smart, yet look at the rest of the animals. Are they killing each other off for any reason? Sometimes I am truly mortified to be human.
