The “Igorots” are the indigenous tribes living in the northern mountain regions of the Philippine islands long before the Spaniards colonized the country way back in the 15th century.
They are famous for their skills in climbing the jagged terrains on the side of mountains and are usually seen dressed in colorful dresses that set them apart from the other indigenous tribes in the Philippines. They are skilled wooden sculptors and most of the sculpted souvenirs bought by tourists were made by the Igorots.
This photo was posted by La Bioguia and shared by a friend in a social network and I find it quite hilarious, and at the same time, saw the ingenuity of the Igorots. Since most of them cannot afford to buy a motorcycle, this creative Igorot built one made of wood… And believe it or not, it works!
