The Enchanted Kingdom (Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines)

One of the popular theme parks in the Philippines is the Enchanted Kingdom located in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Laguna is a province in Southern Luzon which is about an hour’s drive from Metro Manila.  In case you visit the Philippines, you should never miss including Enchanted Kingdom in your itinerary.

Enchanted Kingdom opened to the public on October 19, 1995. It was and still is the first and only world-class theme park in the Philippines. The theme park boasts of rides and attractions unique to the country in size and magnitude. These rides and attractions are located within seven meticulously theme zones interspersed with food and merchandise outlets and kiosks as well as various game stands that add to the “enchanting experience”, away from the day-to-day realities of life.

Enchanted Kingdom can cater to in-park group reservations from 10,000 to 25,000 guests in various themed environments in the Park’s seven zones or in its enchanting events venues: Eldar’s Tent (600-seater), Boardwalk Party Place (300-seater), and Enchanting Events Place (2,000-seater).

Enchanted Kingdom prides itself for “themed entertainment” in each zone. It also has a variety of musical shows throughout the season using in-house and TV network partner talents. Entertainment and special events are usually held at any of the aforementioned venues.

Our Trip to Enchanted Kingdom

My family and I, together with relatives and friends, visited the place on a weekend last January of this year.

The Flying Fiesta

We had fun riding the “Flying Fiesta”, an exhilarating swing ride that makes someone feel like flying as the rotational speed of the seats gradually increases with a wave-like motion created by lifts, drops, and tilts.

The core pillar of the Flying Fiesta changes its colors throughout the duration of the ride… and while you watch the display of its colors, you can also hear the riders screaming at the top of their voices.

It was really fun to ride the Flying Fiesta! As you can see, everyone is all smiling up to their ears… the ride is for tots and adults like!

The Roller Skater

The Roller Skater is a “tamed version” of a roller coaster suited for all ages.  There are no dizzying loops or steep dives that most people fear about riding a roller coaster.

But still, the Roller Skater has turns and dives that will make anyone scream… but not out of fear, but out of enjoyment and fun riding the Roller Skater.

The Air Race

The Air Race boasts of six acrobatic planes that can fly four (4) passengers each. Famous for its simulation of acrobatic exhibition flights, this thriller rider banks, loops, dives, and mimics weightlessness as each place rotates either 180o or 360o while revolving around a central tower. The country’s first and only, Air Race also features remarkable visuals for riders and spectators alike.

The Air Race is like riding a roller coaster with loops and steep dives since the G-force these rides generate are almost the same. Another fun ride to be in… Provided that you have not eaten yet! 🙂

The Disk-O-Magic

The Disk-O-Magic is a fun and breathtaking family ride that takes its riders on a spinning and rocking adventure of motion.  This state-of-the-art ride from Italy has 24 motorcycle-like pedestal seats that maximize visual impact for onlookers and riders alike.

We didn’t had a chance to ride the Disk-O-Magic but we will certainly ride it the next time we visit the Park.

The Rio Grande Rapids

Rushing over rough waters onboard a rubber raft is no tame experience. The Rio Grande Rapids is an exhilarating family (or group) ride that has guests constantly catching their breath while traversing raging white water.

Each of the 11 circular rafts can seat 8 riders for this awesome and refreshing water adventure. Expect to get wet on this ride!

The Wheel of Fate

Go for a truly enchanting ride on this big, old fashioned Ferris Wheel which lifts the riders over 130 feet into the air. There are 36 gondolas and each gondola can accommodate up to 6 riders. One gets a breathtaking view of the entire theme park and the surrounding areas of the Laguna province from the top of the Wheel of Fate.

The Space Shuttle

The Space Shuttle is a thrilling roller coaster ride that turns guests upside-down 6 times — 3 times forward and 3 times backward — all in two minutes. With 28 seats in 7 coaches to choose from, guests will surely experience the exhilarating encounter with gravity, whichever is selected.

The first encounter with “terr” is the claustrophobic rise backwards to prepare the coaster for its first steep dive… then the frightening stomach-churning loops for three times… and at the end of it, a rise forward before it starts all over again… in a backward mode! Yes, this was the finale… the mother of all rides in the theme park.

Only a few, mostly the young and the daring, can conquer their fear of riding the Space Shuttle!

There were still many rides to go and attractions to view… but time was running late. As the gate of the Enchanted Kingdom closes behind us, we left the place with the thought of coming back soon to enjoy those rides we missed… and to feel the magic of Enchanted Kingdom again!
